GLR Picasso

GLR Picasso

GLR Picasso is one cool little suri. His mother is one of our favorite dams on the ranch, a mulitple Color Champion herself, Rock Star's Peruvian Paloma. Picasso's micron count at 15.8 is one of the lowest microns we have ever experienced in a colored suri at Great Lakes Ranch. His luster is incredible, and at only 6.2 months he made his debut in the show ring at the 2010 AAA Futurity and came out with the Reserve Brown Male Color Championship banner. Two weeks later, still at six months old he repeated his performance winning the Reserve Brown Male Color Championship at the 2010 GWAS in Denver. His sire, Shavano is the 2010 Dark Herdsire of the Year, a title that Picasso helped his papa earn at the AAA Futurity. Picasso is greasy to the touch, has a beautiful head and full beard, and amazing coverage from head to toe ever since he was born. He has made a great debut and we look forward to seeing how he matures. With no MacGyver genetics and accoyo genetics along with color from both sides of his pedigree, he has some interesting elements to him as an up and coming junior herdsire. We are pleased to co-own Picasso with Airell and Gretchen Nygaard of EvenTyrGaard Alpacas in Sonora, CA.
